My second daughter was born a few days ago on March 2. I haven't slept more than a few hours in a couple of days.

And yet...

I look around and see my wife with my two daughters and think...

I am a rich man. Rich in a way no amount of money could make me.

I feel like everyone needs a creative outlet. Every new thing seems like it is built to stifle creativity and human expression these days. I'm really not sure what my goal is with this site, hopefully I can build something neat, carve out my little corner of the "Indie Web," and connect with interesting people.

I have been watching my own children grow up in an age of social media and I am grieving the loss of the internet as it was when I grew up in the early 2000s. But I realized not everything has to be the same four terrible websites. There are still forums, browser games, and unique spaces online just like when I grew up. You just have to figure out how to escape the gravitational pull that drags us back into the grey mush, back into hating each other. It just takes a little more work.

There is so much beauty left to find out there.
